An Overdue Apolitical Update

In a return to my long ignored series of posts about my writing, I offer this.

I’ve set myself up for several days of reading my own work. Why, you ask, would I do this?

I’ve just finished (nearly) reviewing the books in my Rebecca Jamse Thrillers books, a series of contemporary mostly political, mostly romantic, thrillers.

The significant portion of that work affected the paperback versions, brought about by Amazon’s price increase a few months ago, and also by their offering a new font, Endure, supposedly designed for print. After several days of testing that font against some of the others I’d used before, I chose to use it for my paperbacks. Along with that, I decided to change the trim size from 6” x 9” to 5.5” x 8.5”, mostly because that’s the size of many of the paperbacks I purchased and I found them comfortable in my hand.

Having spent the last few weeks working through those changes, and others, all the while studiously avoiding the WIP--the next book in this series--yesterday, I finished updating Amazon with the current version of both covers and interiors for the ten books in the series. (One I’d completed earlier.) Thus, I ordered proof copies of all of them.

They’ll arrive on Monday, good lord willing and the creek don’t rise, and thus, my reading will begin, looking for typos and other errors in anticipation of pushing the button to publish them.

Besides, write what you like, right? I like reading them.

The links in the sidebar lead to the Kindle version of the books, but Amazon graciously includes the link to the paperback versions. Since they also keep the old versions on sale, make sure you’re getting a current version before buying. (On the paperback description page, the size of the book is listed, see the page for Nursing Girls for example. [Link opens in a new window.]) The old versions are 6x9, the new ones, 5.5x8.5.

Questions and comments welcome.
